It is hard for everyone to admit it, but people do love to eat a lot of junk food nowadays. Why? It is because the processed/junk foods are delicious to eat. To make the matter more complicated, there are so many fast food restaurant that you can found on every corner of the shop lots. It is no surprise that obesity is at an all time high. While it is general knowledge that eating fast food can increase your weight and body sizes, it is also affecting many other aspects of your health. Acne is one of them. Eating a lot of unhealthy food can aggravate your skin condition and will lead to acne breakouts. Chocolate is one of the bad foods that we usually heard a lot during the adolescent stage. So, is it true as well for other food? We don’t very often hear anything about eating certain food that will help us to get rid of zits. Well, nonetheless, it is a very interesting question, right?

Actually, it is pretty straightforward. You just need to know and understand what foods that contain the nutrients or anti-inflammatory properties that needed to combat against acne and at the same time benefit the skin. In this article, I will list some of the good foods that will help you to prevent acne from breaking out and improve your skin condition.

The first one that is definitely worthy to mention is barley grass. It contains at least 36 different nutrients, minerals and has the antioxidants properties, which it is essential for your body and your skin. Treating acne aside, it is also improving your overall health. For your convenient, it does come in powder form. You can purchase them in any health stores or pharmacy. It may not taste great at first, but you will get used to it after few times. I would consider this barley grass as a super food because of the health benefits that it offered.

Second choice would be Omega 3 fatty acids. It is a natural anti-inflammatory and extremely effective to keep your skin clear. Inflammation causes a big red pimple pop out on your face, and you only solution for this is to reduce the inflammation with Omega 3. Again, for your convenient purpose, I personally recommend you consume it in the form of capsule; fish oil supplement. You don’t have to worry about the absorption as your body can absorbs the omega 3 extremely well in the capsule form. If you don’t like to eat capsule or pills, eating a good amount of fish (e.g. salmon) is another good move.

Knowing which foods to eat definitely give you an upper hand in combating acne, but this is not 100% guaranteed that you will have acne free skin. There are other factors that may contribute to acne breakouts such as inheritance, stress, oily skin and hormonal imbalance. If you still find that your skin condition did not show any improvement after you included all the good foods in your diet meals; then you should consult with your doctor or dermatologist. It may be other unknown causes in your case.
