Wheatgrass Juicer: The Key to Making Fresh Juice

by GuestPoster on July 5, 2011

Drinking fresh wheatgrass juice is always a good way to get the right amount of vitamins and minerals in one’s diet. What’s more is that many believe that it also includes live enzymes that can aid in digestion and help with digestive problems.

To be able to get fresh wheatgrass juice every day, a wheatgrass juicer is needed. That is why a lot of do it yourself juicers have invested in getting one. Some even cultivate their own wheatgrass to make sure that they have a constant supply of fresh blades.

Drink it fresh!

Ann Wigmore, one of the people responsible for making this grass so popular believes that the grass is only good for three hours after harvesting it. She claims that the live enzymes can only be good for that amount of time. Thus, many people choose to grow their own supply.

Another thing to bear in mind is that grass that grows naturally outdoors is still better than those grown indoors. However, for many cultivators, it is more convenient to grow them indoors in trays. In addition, it can grow indoors under fluorescent light regardless of the weather conditions.

Fresh juice contains vitamins A, B, C and E. It will also contain iron, calcium, magnesium, amino acids and live enzymes. All of these are necessary nutrients to stay healthy and prevent other medical conditions. In many aspects, wheatgrass is not so different in its nutritional content with other leafy green vegetables.

Get a good juicer

Those who prefer juicing a variety of fruits and vegetables may be better off with multi-purpose juicers. That is fine. Still, for wheatgrass, a wheatgrass juicer is still the best to use. Other juicers may not produce a good amount of juice from the blades of grass. In addition, centrifugal juicers are definitely not recommended for extracting wheatgrass juice.

Slower juicers like masticating, twin gear or triturating are the best ones to use. These do not make juice as fast. Yet, these can produce high quality wheatgrass juice. Due to the fact that one cannot make high quality juice with fast juicers, manual juicers can also be used.

One benefit of using a manual juicer is its price. It will definitely cost a lot less than its electric counterparts. However, those who suffer from other medical conditions might be better off with electric juicers. Manual ones will require more time effort to use.
